Wrought Iron Step Railing for Business in Historic District of Shepherdstown, WV

metal railing for business in historic districtWe were contacted by the property owner of Bistro 112,  a wonderful Parisian restaurant in the historic district of Shepherdstown, West Virginia.  The entrance to the restaurant had charming stone steps, but due to how steep they were, there was concern about the safety of the patrons.  They were looking to have a simple, stylish step railing created to give support as people entered and exited the building.

There were a number of challenges on this project.  The steep grade of the steps, the restaurant doors could swing both in and out, and the existing shutters all needed to be accounted for.  Antietam Iron Works with the towns committee approval installed this hand forged scrolling step railing.  In doing so we took great care to use a no impact water drill to not damage this historic stone step.
